Facilities

Yorkshire Rose College is set within the 24-acre Carr Fenton Foundation site in Doncaster. Our campus is designed to give students the best possible start to adulthood by combining modern, industry-standard facilities with safe, welcoming social spaces.

We’ve created an environment where students can learn skills, build independence and truly feel part of a community.

Specialist Support Facilities

As a specialist college, our facilities are designed around communication, inclusion and wellbeing:

Deaf Education Centre

We’re proud to offer a specialist Deaf Education Centre for students aged 16 to 25. It’s a dedicated space for Deaf students, where Deaf young people can learn, thrive and build independence, and be supported by staff who understand their language, culture and community.

Communication without barriers

Every student is different, and so are their communication needs. Our team of Communication Support Workers adapts to each learner, using BSL, SSE or speech depending on preference. BSL is at the heart of the Centre, helping students develop a strong vocabulary, build confidence and reduce barriers to learning.

More than a classroom

The Deaf Education Centre isn’t just about academic study – it’s also about identity and belonging. Students are supported to embrace Deaf culture and community, develop independence and build the skills they need for adulthood.

Person-centred support

With small class sizes, individualised timetables and a highly skilled support team, students receive the right help at the right time. Whether it’s accessing the full curriculum in their preferred language or developing life skills through Deaf Independence, we make sure every learner has the opportunity to succeed on their own terms.

Sports, Leisure & Wellbeing

We believe health and happiness are central to student success. On campus, students can access:

  • A fully equipped gym and sports hall.
  • A new wellbeing garden created with student input.
  • Common rooms and social spaces for breaks and evenings.
  • Outdoor areas, including a field at the back of campus.

Community & Enterprise Spaces

Students put their learning into practice in spaces that connect with the wider community:

  • A student-run café offering real-world customer service experience.
  • On-site enterprise and retail spaces where students create and sell their work.
  • Links to local fayres, markets and community events

Living on Campus

For students who stay on site, Darley Lodge residence provides a safe, homely environment with staff available 24/7.
