A home from home for Deaf children and young people.
Dickson House is a warm, specialist children’s home where young people live, learn and thrive. Our staff create a safe, family-style environment full of care, fun and belonging.
What we offer
Outstanding care, every day
We’re proud to be consistently rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Every child here is known, valued and understood – supported by people who sign, listen and go above and beyond to help them grow in confidence and independence.

What we offer
Life that feels like family
Shared meals. Football in the garden. Crafts, birthdays and movie nights. Children gain new experiences, make friends who use BSL to communicate, and practise life skills that prepare them for the future. It’s not just where they live – it’s where they belong.
My child is finally happy and settled. The staff genuinely care — and it shows every day.

Who we support
Most of our residents are pupils at Doncaster School for the Deaf, staying Monday to Friday during term time. We also provide year-round placements for a small number of young people who need extra support and stability through social care funding.

What makes us different
Dickson House offers a unique environment for deaf young people
Children thrive because relationships are trusting, nurturing and consistent.
