Every child is welcomed and valued at Little Learners – whatever their background, ability or need. We provide a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where children from birth to five years can explore, learn and grow with confidence.
Our nursery caters for children with clear, age-based progression across ten beautifully designed rooms. Each space is calm, stimulating and filled with opportunities to explore through play. We offer space for every child to develop at their own pace and in their own way.

Children are happy and ready to learn. Staff plan activities that excite and engage, helping children make good progress.
— Ofsted, 2022

Little Learners was founded in 2001 with a simple goal: to provide high-quality early years education in a setting that feels like family. Over the years, we’ve grown to become one of Doncaster’s most respected nurseries, known for our structured approach, nurturing staff and outstanding facilities.
We operate as a private, voluntary and independent day care facility within the Carr Fenton Foundation – a peaceful, well-equipped campus just minutes from Doncaster town centre. We’ve been named Best Day Nursery several years running and are rated Good by Ofsted, who praised our happy children, strong relationships and purposeful learning environment.
Our bright, open-plan nursery spaces are designed to inspire curiosity and comfort. With ten individual rooms designed for specific age groups, children enjoy the right balance of comfort, challenge and structure at every stage of their development.
Our team plans each child’s learning through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), combining play-based exploration with focused developmental goals. Children benefit from secure outdoor play areas for every age group, as well as a modern sensory room to develop communication and discovery skills, plus easy access and parking for families at drop-off and collection times.

Nature plays a big role in life at Little Learners. Our Forest School programme for children aged three and over encourages independence, teamwork and problem-solving through hands-on experiences in our woodland areas. We’re currently exploring ways to extend Forest School opportunities to younger children, so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of outdoor learning.
Little Learners is proud to be part of the Carr Fenton Foundation, a charitable organisation providing education, training and care for children and young people who are deaf and/or have additional needs.
This gives our nursery something truly special – direct access to the Foundation’s therapy team and inclusion specialists. Children benefit from on-site speech and language therapy, audiology and occupational therapy, while our staff receive ongoing professional development from experts. We offer resources many nurseries can’t, including:
- On-site access to speech and language therapy, audiology and occupational therapy
- Guidance from inclusion specialists and sign language tutors
- Pathways and support for children with additional needs or hearing loss

We’re recognised by Doncaster Local Authority with enhanced status for Special Educational Needs,
This recognition reflects our experience in supporting children who are deaf or have additional needs.
Families tell us this gives them real peace of mind — knowing that everything a child might need is already part of nursery life, backed by a wider community of professionals dedicated to their wellbeing and progress.
